Launching April, 2016, Malaysia Airlines is introducing a new business-class cabin for its Airbus A330-300 aircraft for flights between Australia and Kuala Lumpar.
In a bid to regain some competitive advantage against the carrier's main rivals throughout Asia, the latest cabin will introduce a new way to fly for Malaysia Airlines guests and forms part of new CEO Christoph Mueller's aggressive rebranding plans.

"The new seats and configuration have been designed to give a superb space for work, play or sleep," said Mr Mueller. "This product will make us more competitive against other full-service carriers and is part of the airline's push to be more customer-centric, offering new, personalised and innovative products."
With 90 percent of the cabin having direct aisle access, the new Thompson Aero-designed seats are similar to those featured on Aer Lingus and Finnair.

The cabin layout will be a comfortable 1x2x1, with just a couple of rows at 1x2x2, which is an unusual design but works well for couples travelling together.
One of the most appealing functions of the seat to travellers will be the fully lie-flat bed, which is currently not available on the A330s. In bed mode, the seats will measure 76 inches (1.93 metres) and will be lined with plush bed linen.
Other features include AC and USB ports for every seat, 43-inch seat pitch, 16-inch touch screen personal TV, single leaf meal tray doubling as a work space, and adjustable reading light.

New catering and a lounge refresh will also be launched as part of the brand rejuvenation.
The business-class cabin refresh will only be available on the carrier's A330 aircraft. The current business-class cabin on the Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 will remain unchanged.
