Travellers to and from Bali have been disrupted by volcanic activity from Indonesia’s Mt Rinjani overnight but flights have resumed today.
Virgin Australia, Jetstar and Tigerair have announced they are resuming flights to and from Bali, but some delays may be expected.
Under advice from the Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre, Jetstar has resumed flights and is looking at additional flights to get people to their destinations during the busy school holiday period.
In a statement this morning, Jetstar said: “If they choose to, customers booked on Jetstar flights to or from Bali on September 27 and 28 will be able to get a credit voucher for their flights or move their flights to/from Bali within the next 28 days without paying a booking change fee or fare difference.”

Virgin Australia has recommenced regular scheduled services between Australia and Denpasar in Bali, saying: “Our team of experts have determined that conditions are now safe for services to continue.”
Flights from Australia to Denpasar from Thursday, September 29 are expected to operate as normal, subject to favourable conditions, the airline said.
Tigerair said there would be a few delayed services today, but advised passengers booked originally to travel on services to/from Bali today or tomorrow to check-in for their scheduled services unless otherwise notified by the airline. “The airline apologises for any inconvenience caused by passengers affected by any delays and is working hard to get passengers to their destination as soon as possible. However, safety always comes before a schedule.”
