Adventure and lifestyle photographer Matt Cherubino shares his experience of The Shore at Katathani, a luxury beachfront villa resort on Kata Noi Beach in Phuket, Thailand.

All the hustle and bustle of Phuket melted away as soon as we entered The Shore at Katathani. Upon entering our Seaview Pool Villa, I immediately felt compelled to dive straight into our infinity pool balcony overlooking Kata Noi Beach. Rising from the sheets of the luxury beachfront villa looking out over the glassy infinity pool that seamlessly becomes one with the white sand shore of Phuket’s Kata Noi beach, it begins to sound like a dream, doesn’t it?

 Your very own infinity pool.

But this is the reality of a night spent at The Shore at Katathani, a perfect escape from the fast pace of Phuket, where the natural coastal beauty and the sound of waves crashing create the perfect getaway for any traveller seeking absolute luxury.

The Shore at Kathathani is full of thoughtful touches.

With your own private open-air dining area and fresh local Thai cuisine delivered to your balcony, the sense of quality and indulgence resonates throughout the boutique resort.  A high tea of fresh fruit and sashimi delivered to your private dining balcony complement the organic setting, placing you between the ocean, sand and sunset - all from the comfort of your own room.

Enjoy the view with a sashimi and fresh fruit high tea.

Before I get too carried away by the luxury of The Shore at Katathani, I want to touch on what I believe creates a relaxing holiday. To break it down, I would have to say the service, location and overall vibe define your stay. The Shore at Katathani certainly ticked all boxes for me.

With only 48 villas on the property, it feels like you’ve got the whole resort to yourself. The staff at The Shore were attentive, kind and most importantly, happy to be there, which continued to carry the positive vibe The Shore at Katathani left on me.  What particularly won me over was the location. The beach itself was not overrun by boats and street vendors. Unlike many other beaches in Phuket, it’s just you and the crystal turquoise water at Kata Noi Beach.

Walk out from your Pool Villa and into the infinity pool.

The highlight of my stay was watching the sunset disappear behind the Andaman Sea from the comfort of the villa; the fusion of indoor and outdoor living was something that I really appreciated, as the villas are elevated on the hill giving this unique floating perspective.

Being able to open the sliding doors and allow the afternoon Thai breeze to flow through before diving straight into the pool made it even harder to leave. In the short time I spent there it was easy to loose track of time and get caught up in the beautiful surroundings - at The Shore at Katathani,  there is no rush. Taking your own pace and enjoying the experience is the way to go.

Luxury and indulgence all the way.

I would highly recommend The Shore at Katathani to anyone wanting an authentic beachfront luxury experience, while still being able to immerse yourself in Thai culture.
