I must admit, Samoa had never been high on my travel bucket list. But I made the mistake of never really turning my attention to this unheralded South Pacific destination.

Now that I have, it seems crazy to keep it so low. With its pristine reef snorkelling, literary history and islander culture, Samoa has earned itself another fan.
