It's a roll of the dice when you stay at a new hotel but this resort is called Double-Six for a reason because luck is on your side!
On my most recent trip to Bali, I had the pleasure of staying in the new Double-Six Luxury Hotel in Seminyak. The resort only opened in April of 2014, so my November stay was perfectly timed to reap the rewards of gorgeous, brand new interiors coupled with a very efficient host of staff.
I'll admit, I loved the resort so much it was kind of hard to make the difficult call to actually venture out each day. When a butler sets you up on a shaded pool lounge with a cocktail menu – you get my drift.
Italian Seminyak is the in-house restaurant and you may not have guessed, but they specialise in Italian food. Italian Seminyak is the sister restaurant to famed North Bondi Italian (now North Bondi Fish) and the menu is a crowd pleasing selection of pizza and pasta.

Those who opt for an accommodation package with breakfast included will dine at Italian Seminyak for breakfast and I rate it as one of the best in-house breakfast menus I've ever come across. They swap the pizza and pasta menu for egg white omelettes, fresh juices and bircher muesli which is a refreshing change for most hotel restaurants.
And never fear, as always, there is a 'big breakfast' for those who may have overindulged on cocktails the night before.
The hotel is conveniently named after the boulevard it sits on, Double-Six. Right next door is famed Cocoon Beach Club, a party hub for the bikini-clad, and just down the road an array of local beachfront eateries await, along with many shopping bargains, massage parlours and of course, the beach.
I'd definitely recommend Double-Six as a great resort for families with young kids. Pool lounges, day beds and a fresh supply of beach towels are all readily available and you can order food and drinks as you go.
A two-bedroom interconnecting room also allows you the space to spread your family out with separate bathrooms and dual living areas.
