Brisbane Airport's much-anticipated Virgin Australia international lounge is just months from opening in May 2019.
Operated by UK-based No 1 Lounges, the space will be called My Lounge and service business class passengers plus Platinum and Gold Velocity Frequent Flyer Members flying to a selection of destinations including New Zealand, Los Angeles, Bali and the Pacific Islands.
Current, fully paid members of the Virgin Australia Lounge scheme will also have access prior to eligible flights.
Situated at the northern end of the terminal concourse, adjacent to Gate 77, the lounge has been designed in the style of a loft apartment and will feature “seating for more than 100 guests” in a relaxed environment, according to the airline.
Other features include a bar and barista made coffee, a dining area with a grazing menu and a small working area and a games nook.
Previously, and until My Lounge opens in May, international lounge access for lounge-eligible Virgin passengers was through the Singapore Airlines lounge for VA7 flights to Los Angeles and the Plaza Premium lounge for other Virgin Australia destinations.
