Style + Ease = Steeze.
It’s the ultimate goal in snowboarding - to throw a massive trick and land it like it’s no big deal. Steezy can also be used to give props to someone’s outfit or appearance if it meets the criteria of effortless flair.
Let’s be honest; we all care about what we look like on the slopes. Skiing and snowboarding has its own set of style guidelines, and just like high school kids choosing an outfit for the school disco, we want to look cool.

Long jacket
Since no one wants snow down their pants, long jackets were practical before they became steezy. With guys it seems to be the bigger jacket the better, and the word “gangsta” is often thrown around. Girls may want a more fitted version so they still feel feminine.
Goggle tan
That glorious racoon tan that can only be from an excess of bluebird days on the hill... You can pretend you hate it, but we know you crave it.
Don’t let anyone catch you goggle tanning or you’ll be demoted from steezy to douche real fast. Our favourite spot for sneaking some rays without looking obvious is The Woods at Big White, who set up a killer outdoor après area. All that glaring white snow means no one will blame you for keeping your goggles on.
Après right
Speaking of après... do not go home and wash/dry/straighten your hair before heading to the bar. The best après happens when you stomp in, slightly sweaty, and scull an icy cold tap beer that always feels like the best thing you’ve ever tasted.
One of our favourite spots for a post-shred bevvy is Cinnamon Bear at Whistler Blackcomb, which has a rowdy Swedish après party every Wednesday. You gotta love the Swedes; they’re hot AND they know how to party.
Block colours, not fluoro colours
Save the fluoro gear for the retro ski party and rock some more subdued colours. Say no to loud patterns; those green and pink polka dots are not your friends, although some park rats get away with camo print.
Check out Ski Dazzle at SilverStar Mountain Resort for some steezy styles; it’s obvious that whoever does their buying spends most days with two feet strapped in.
Mirrored lenses
See the picture below? Don’t be that girl. Mirrored lenses look cooler, hide your eyes when you’re checking out hotties, and offer a reflective surface where your friends can check to make sure there's no poutine stuck in their teeth.
Wear pants that look like pants
You wouldn’t normally wear bright blue pants to the shops #amirite, so let this be your guide when choosing snow pants. Khaki, chino and denim looking pants are hot right now, with mustard and grey also being on fleek when paired with the right colours. If in doubt, go for black, and try to find the happy medium between baggy and disturbingly tight.
Don’t wear a GoPro on your helmet
Please just don’t. Unless you’re a pro, there’s no need to film every moment of your day. If you’ve nailed an awesome trick and you want proof, get your mate to film you instead. It will look a thousand times better than bumpy head cam footage, we promise.
