On Saturday (14 February 2015) Princess Cruises sailed into Sydney Harbour decked out in thousands of love hearts, sailing to the tune of a new remixed version of the classic eighties “The Love Boat” TV show theme song.

Nostalgia – check. Romance – check. An epic 4.5 metre illuminated heart on the bow of the Pacific Princess – check. An edgy new take on a classic tune – check. It seems Princess Cruises had all bases covered this Valentine's, including love quite literally hanging in the air to mark the day of romance on the high seas.

Princess Cruises commissioned the remix of the song (which you can boogie along to by pressing play on the video below) from award-winning Australian electronic dance music duo Yolanda Be Cool to mark the Sydney visit of the cruise line’s modern day “Love Boat”, Pacific Princess, on Valentine’s Day.

“Everyone knows the Love Boat theme but we wanted to do something special with it to really surprise people as we mark Pacific Princess’ Valentine’s Day visit and celebrate Princess’ 50th anniversary.”

“In the words of the song itself, this remix is ‘exciting and new’– we think it will capture the hearts of a whole new generation and original fans will fall in love with it all over again.” said Stuart Allison (Princess Cruises Vice President Australia and New Zealand).

Doesn't get much more romantic than that. Princess Cruises celebrates 50 years of cruising in 2015.
