P&O has launched a new way to experience the biggest event on the rugby league calendar: the State of Origin.
The seven-night P&O Pacific Dawn cruise will sail into Sydney in time for the State of Origin opener on 1 June, 2016. A bronze State of Origin ticket plus transfers to and from ANZ Stadium will also be included.
The inaugural cruise sets sail from Brisbane on 28 May, 2016 with calls to Moreton Island and Newcastle.
The action will kick off the moment guests step on board with former Origin players joining the cruise and past games televised throughout the journey. Guests will also have the chance to take a photo with a replica State of Origin trophy.
Prices start from $799*, which represents fantastic value for Queenslanders. All onboard accommodation, meals and entertainment are included in the one low price, along with transport to the match and a game ticket.

P&O Cruises Senior Vice President Sture Myrmell said the cruise line’s expansion to a five-ship fleet had allowed it to bolster its event offerings to include one of the biggest fixtures on the local sporting calendar.
“Whether or not the Maroons take home the Origin trophy in 2016, this cruise is a big win for Queensland footy fans. As well as transport, accommodation, food and entertainment, guests on the inaugural State of Origin cruise will be getting some of the hottest tickets in town included as part of their cruise fare - it’s seriously great value,” Mr Myrmell said.
“Pacific Dawn is Queensland’s ship so we expect to see a lot of Maroons fans coming on board and cheering on their team from Brisbane to Sydney and back.”
