A true pedigree of hipster suburbs on the Gold Coast. Burleigh Beach has a laid back bohemian vibe, complete with one of the coast’s top beaches (home to the annual Quiky Pro). There’s a definite surfy Byron Bay-esque beachy feel about the place, which has set the tone for the area. Head to trendy James Street and hit the shops for up-and-coming designers, as well as established “It’ labels, before grabbing a bite to eat at some of the many cosy cafes and whole foods style restaurants. Every first and third Sunday of the month, Burleigh buzzes with the boutique fashion and lifestyle market - The Village Markets. This is a favourite hangout for local hipsters who come to listen to great music, discover local designers, and indulge in delicious food and drinks.
