Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) in Denpasar has now been closed due to the ash cloud generated from the eruption of Mount Agung yesterday. The Depasar Airport is expected to remain closed until this evening, with all flights currently suspended.

 

Virgin Australia has advised it has cancelled flights to and from Sydney and Denpasar and Brisbane and Denpasar today. Affected passengers will be contacted directly by the airline by SMS or email.

 

AirAsia has advised it has cancelled a variety of flight into and out of Denpasar, including to and from Perth.

 

Qantas flights are also affected with affected passengers contacted by the airline directly via SMS or email.

Mount Agung in Bali has erupted again this week with a large ash cloud emerging from the volcano yesterday,  Thursday, 28 June. 

 

Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar remains open and operational, however a number of international airlines opted to cancel or delay flights overnight and today (Friday, 29 June). Cancelled flights affect carriers AirAsia, Jetstar, Virgin Australia and Qantas.

 

Jetstar has advised that flights JQ91 Denpasar to Cairns and JQ117 Singapore - Denpasar - Perth have been cancelled today. Affected passengers will be contacted directly by the airline.
