Formerly the 60 Thompson, this sophisticated hotel in Manhattan's hip SoHo district has been renovated and rebranded.

Crowning the 97-room hotel is a rooftop bar open only to guests, members, and private parties. Delve deeper and you'll find the low-lit Gordon Bar, littered with curious knick-knacks and serving an array of signature cocktails.
The decoration in the bedrooms matches the boho-chic public spaces, with geometric rugs, dark wood floors and venetian blinds, along with an assortment of plants, candles and books dotted around. Among the suites is the split-level Sixty Loft, which comes with its own deck.

The Baccarat Hotel

Glass is the name of the game at the Baccarat, which opened in March as the first hotel branded with the French crystal company's name. It is awash with crystal chandeliers in the entrance hall, restaurant, and bedrooms, which also feature dark wood furniture, TVs hidden within smoked mirrors, and marble bathrooms.
The building's facade is made of prismatic glass that refracts light across all 50 storeys. Also onsite is a chic bar, plus a gym, spa and pool.
The Paul
32 West 29th Street
This hotel is aimed at 'millennials' and is in the happening NoMad neighbourhood – north of Madison Square Park. It features twin rooms with chrome bunk beds, as well as more traditional kings and doubles.

Colourful interiors are offset with retro desk lamps and cartoon-style images of the Manhattan skyline on the walls. Some of the rooms in the 21-storey tower have views of landmarks such as the Empire State Building and the One World Trade Center.
1 Central Park
1414 Avenue of the Americas
In keeping with its location on Central Park, this brand new hotel brings the outside in, with decor that makes use of reclaimed wood and living plants. Goodie bags filled with healthy snacks are given out on arrival, and rooms come with hemp-blend mattresses, organic toiletries, and yoga mats.

The largest suite – aptly named the Greenhouse – has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and views over Central Park and the Manhattan skyline. There are also astronomical maps and binoculars for guests who want to go stargazing.
The Edition
5 Madison Avenue
The third property in Ian Schrager's Edition collection is due to open on May 12. Housed in a 41-storey former clock tower opposite Madison Square Park, the 273-room hotel will include two bars, a billiard room, and a restaurant run by Michelin-starred London chef Jason Atherton.
The light and bright bedrooms have oversized windows, statement headboards made from dark walnut, and white oak desks. The hotel will also feature a spa and fitness centre.
The Knickerbocker
6 Times Square, 1466 Broadway
The original Knickerbocker, once a New York landmark, closed to guests in 1921, but the 1906-built hotel, which for many years housed offices, reopened in February as luxury accommodation.
The new Knickerbocker has retained the building's Neoclassical architecture but added understated, modern interiors, with 330 rooms and two restaurants.
