She's not a bird and she probably only does a passable impression of a plane, but YouTube sensation Lilly Singh doesn't mind if you call her Superwoman.
The Canadian-born comedian, rapper and bona fide internet celebrity has amassed a staggering 5.7 million subscribers on her YouTube channel, where she charms her audience with a mix of colourful parodies and incisive pieces-to-camera.
Having long ago adopted the moniker of Superwoman, the 26-year-old is now set to embark on her first world tour. Titled "A Trip To Unicorn Island," the whirlwind tour includes five dates in Australia.
"It is amazingness combined!" Singh says breathlessly down the phone line from her hometown Toronto. "It is going to be my channel coming to life.
"This show is going to have comedy, it's going to have inspiration, it's going to have music, it's going to have dancing but I think, above all, it's going to have a message," she adds.
"From beginning to end, it's going to have a storyline. We're literally going to take the audience on a trip from one place to another place and it's going to have a really strong message."
The world tour may be a first for an entertainer more accustomed to performing in front of a camera, but the cosmopolitan Singh has already travelled extensively, including to Australia.
"When I first came out, I was actually so shocked!" she says. "I knew it would be gorgeous, but I mean the harbourfront that you have (in Sydney), I think it was the best that I've ever seen in the world."
Given her Punjabi heritage, it perhaps comes as no surprise that Singh draws heavily from the Indian diaspora. However, the articulate performer – who holds a degree in Psychology from York University – says her humour appeals to a broad audience base.
Nevertheless, Singh says she'd like to explore more of her parents' homeland, particularly the tourist centres of the south.
"Last year I went to Mumbai for the first time for work," Singh explains. "For my tour, I'm going to Bangalore and Hyderabad. I've never, ever been close to those places.
"In terms of places I haven't been yet, I'd love to experience the south. Kerala... I would also really like to go to Goa. I've heard nothing but amazing things!"

Such is Singh's global appeal, the multi-talented performer has pitched up in plenty of tourism hotspots - and she labels Singapore one of her unexpected travel highlights.
"I had no idea what to expect when I went there and it's just such a unique place. It's so small, you can drive across it in 45 minutes but there's so much in it," Singh explains.
"They have so many world records! Tallest 'this'... tallest waterfalls, highest infinity pool! I think I was taken aback by just how beautiful it is. It's just such a unique-looking place," she adds.
As for where she's most looking forward to travelling on a tour that will take her back to India and as far afield as England, the amiable performer is keen to check out one of Asia's trendiest cities.
"I'm definitely excited to go to Hong Kong," says Singh. "I've never been and I've been Googling pictures every single day and it looks awesome! It's a culture I've not experienced before."
Culture is something you get the feeling Singh loves to immerse herself in, which is probably why she appeals to such a wide audience.
"It doesn't matter how you feel walking into my show, I guarantee that when you will leave you will feel ten times happier," she says. "All I want to do is make you feel happy inside... and I will do that!"
