With Queensland already sweltering just two weeks into summer, the announcement that a new poolside oasis is set to make a splash on the Gold Coast is refreshing news.

The sunlounger pillows have been plumped and spas brought to the bubble, as the lavish rooftop sanctuary at Jupiters Hotel & Casino welcomes its first influx of serenity seekers.

During the day, guests at the Broadbeach hotel can soak their stresses away, stretch and sun themselves on chaise lounges, indulge with a spa treatment in a private poolside bungalow, or retreat to a cabana with a cocktail in hand. By night, the area is available for exclusive hire.

Managing Director Geoff Hogg says the sparkling new poolside experience has the hotel well on track to becoming a world-class integrated resort for the Gold Coast.

“We've spent time carefully crafting a serene, luxurious environment together with exclusive packages to ensure our guests feel that they are truly being pampered," he says.

The poolside sanctuary features a brand new bar and ample a la carte menu, as well as a VIP lounge area, two bungalows with private spas and decks, and nine cabanas with enviable poolside positions.

Jupiters Hotel & Casino has been a mainstay on the Gold Coast accommodation scene for almost 30 years. The revamped poolside area is part of a $345 million redevelopment, which includes a six-star luxury hotel tower and a string of new bars and restaurants, two of which are set to open later this month.

Contemporary Japanese cuisine will be served at the new Kiyomi restaurant and bar from December 23, with a focus on shared dining and an 'izakaya' atmosphere.

Kiyomi has nabbed chef Chase Kojima from the one-hatted Sokyo restaurant at The Star in Sydney. The menu at Kiyomi is set to feature a few Sokyo signature dishes to start and will expand into adventurous flavours such as liquorice lamb chops.

Kiyomi will keep the night young until the wee hours, with traditional sake, top-shelf Japanese whiskies and cocktails on offer, as well as a nine-metre sushi bar .

Cucina Vivo is the second dining destination to open at Jupiters in late December, taking its cues from the traditional Italian dinner table – get ready to tear the pane di casa by hand and swap dishes with your amici.

Cucina Vivo will be Jupisters' first al fresco restaurant, with a terrace overlooking the polished new pool area.
