Winter might bring the cold, but it's also introducing travellers to an incredible Outback experience. Starting July, visitors to Kakadu National Park will be able to stay amongst the stunning Northern Territory wilderness without sacrificing comfort.
Pop-up hotel operator, Flash Camp, is setting up glamorous tent accommodation at Cooinda Camping Ground right in the heart of Kakadu.

Unlike typical airbed-and-sleeping-bag camping, these tents will feature spring-foam mattresses, bed linen, fresh towels, bamboo furnishings and pallet bed frames.
Toiletries will also be included, to be used at the newly renovated toilet and shower facilities. A barbeque, restaurant, bar and pool round out the amenities for guests.
“Flash Camp will deliver a memorable experience for those looking for something more upmarket than a traditional camping option,” said Brett Skinner, General Manager of Cooinda Lodge, which is jointly managed and staffed by Kakadu Tourism and Accor Hotels.
“It offers the perfect balance of comfort and reconnection with nature; conveniently positioned in our campground, it is a great base for families, couples and groups to experience the iconic Yellow Water Wetlands Cruise and explore southern Kakadu attractions.

To better meet the various travel groups frequenting Kakadu, Flash Camp will offer a range of double, twin and family tents. Cooinda Lodge, adjacent to the campsite, also plans to provide exclusive tour packages including 4WD and fishing tours, along with Indigenous-themed stargazing cruises.

Cooinda Camping Ground is located next to Yellow Water Billabong in the centre of Kakadu National Park. It's accessible via a three-hour drive from Darwin, easily reached on an affordable flight from most major Australian cities.
