You may have caught the hilarious Super Bowl ad earlier this year when Alexa “lost her voice”, prompting a slew of celebrities to step in and answer people’s questions to Alexa. But if you’re new to Amazon’s voice service, your first question is probably going to be: “Who is Alexa?”

Woman with Amazon Echo Dot device Ready to go? Ask Alexa for the best flights with Flight Centre with your Amazon Echo Dot.

Basically, Alexa is the cloud-based voice service from Amazon that’s designed to make your life a breeze. Think Siri for Apple devices or Google Assistant.

Simply ask your hands-free Amazon device a question, and Alexa will respond immediately. To really personalise your experience, you can customise Alexa with skills (voice-controlled apps) to help you make the most of your Alexa-enabled device such as Amazon Echo, Echo Plus and Echo Dot.

Amazon has now launched in the Australian market, and Flight Centre is one of the first travel companies to offer a skill for Amazon Echo devices. There’s no need to spend hours searching for the best flight deals online – simply ask Alexa!

Use the Flight Centre skill to ask Alexa to help you find the best flight deals for your preferred travel dates. Once you’re happy with the quote, just ask Alexa to arrange a local Flight Centre Travel Expert to call you within 48 hours to finalise the details and payment.

Here’s how to get started:

1. Enable the Flight Centre skill

Visit the Skills section in the Alexa App, search for ‘Flight Centre’ and tap ‘Enable Skill’ to get started. To use the Flight Centre skill for the first time, say “Alexa, enable Flight Centre”.

2. Just ask Alexa

Begin by saying: “Alexa, ask Flight Centre…” and receive a quote for your flight query. See sample queries below.

3. Request a call

If the flight quote suits your needs and budget, you can provide Alexa with your name and phone number so a Flight Centre travel consultant can get in touch with you to finalise your booking.
