"Mirror, mirror, on the wall - what is the newest Disney addition of them all?"

Here at Flight Centre, we're living, breathing proof that you don't have to be kid-sized to get excited about fresh attractions at California's Disneyland Resort in Anaheim this year. We're all about finding out our inner Disney princess (I'm Jasmine, btw), swooning over the fairytale food and swotting up on how we'd make the most of our time in the 'Happiest Place on Earth' (you, too?).

Well, fellow Disney fans, hold on to your frying pan. In 2018, Disney will unveil a whole new land with the introduction of Pixar Pier, which will debut in the US summer months. But first up, buckle up for Pixar Fest when it touches down at both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park from April 13, 2018.

Yep, Disney has sprinkled some of that pixie dust to bring the magical cartoon world of Pixar Animated Studios to life, adding new experiences and extra elements to favourite attractions and shows at Disneyland Resort. The first-ever Pixar Fest will showcase the world's largest theme park celebration of favourite stories and beloved characters from the renowned animated film studio (think movies like Up; Cars; Toy Story; Monsters, Inc.; and Inside Out) at an exclusive event that will run for a limited time only.

Pixar Fest will include new experiences across both theme parks such as the Together Forever night-time fireworks spectacular and Pixar Play Parade (headed up by the famous Pixar Lamp) with all your fave animated characters at Disneyland Park, and a Pixar-themed "Paint The Night" Parade and "World of Color" night-time extravaganza at Disney California Adventure Park.

Later in the year, Disney California Adventure Park will welcome Pixar Pier, which heralds a whole host of new interactive attractions and experiences. Pixar Pier will consist of four whimsical neighbourhoods based on popular Disney Pixar stories. The first neighbourhood will allow visitors to step into the world of the Incredibles with the thrilling new Incredicoaster - a high-speed ride with lights and special effects that features characters from the film, plus there's the upcoming Incredibles 2 film to look forward to - due on screens from June 14, 2018.

Also on the horizon, Star Wars fans can get their latest sci-fi fix with Star Tours - The Adventure Continues. This exhilarating new sequence addition (inspired by Star Wars: The Last Jedi) takes passengers to two new destinations when Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opens at Disneyland in 2019.

There's also Marvel super heroes to encounter in Hollywood Land throughout the year, plus seasonal events to plan for (Mickey's Halloween Party is a must-do).

Top tip: Make sure you get yourself up to date on all the tips and tricks and the latest theme park features such as Disney's FastPass and MaxPass and download the official Disneyland app to make sure your visit is the fairest one of all.

Consumed with unrequited wanderlust, I get my fix in 24/7 cities and hippie retreats. I'm still looking for the ultimate combo of secluded beach and major metropolis, and my happy place is a 5-star hotel room all to myself - sigh.
