‘Beautiful one day, perfect the next’ – the Sunshine State’s motto is as relevant now as it was in the 1980s. Brisbane’s fashion-forward retail and lifestyle strip, James Street, is so excited for summer it’s hosting an ‘urban vacation’ this weekend under the moniker RESORT.

The event runs from 23-25 October and involves a range guest speakers including global tastemaker, author and digital entrepreneur Leandra Medine (aka Man Repeller), along with futurist and editor of Monocle magazine, Tyler Brûlé. Brisbane locals and out-of-towners can expect art, food, fashion and fun.

A self-confessed 'food-tourist', I take hunting for the world's greatest sandwich very seriously, my quest has taken me from Berlin to Hoboken. Stopping off only for vintage shopping, craft beers and Mediterranean sunsets.
