Daydream Island Resort & Spa will receive a $50 million revamp early next year to transform the island in the Whitsundays into a world-class, 4.5-star resort.
All room types will be refurbished, along with the arrivals pavilion, reception, main atrium area, Waterfalls restaurant, Lagoons bar and Mermaids restaurant. The Lovers Cove function area will be expanded and a new Asian-inspired restaurant will be built.

Conference facilities will be significantly expanded.
General manager Dawson Tang said it would be business as usual until the resort closes for the revamp in early 2018.
“With well over 100,000 guests staying on Daydream Island each year, we recognise the need to continuously improve our product and we will be improving the guest experience based on recent feedback right up until the redevelopment,” Mr Tang said.
Daydream Island is in the heart of Queensland’s Great Barrier Reef. It currently boasts 296 rooms, the Rejuvenation Spa, a wide range of activities on and off the island, including the daily Living Reef shark and stingray feeding show, as well as sparkling bays and secluded beaches.
