You may have already heard that the ever-evolving Virgin brand has launched Virgin Voyages, with the first cruise ship, the Scarlet Lady to set sail in April 2020. Well the time has finally arrived when you can book a stateroom on the ship!
From next week, staterooms and suites will be on sale through your Flight Centre Travel Expert.
It’s done by Branson, so it must be good, right?
Correct. As Branson told People, “I’ve never been on a cruise, I’ve wanted to go on a cruise. That’s why we started a cruise line, just to try to create a cruise ship that was fun, and that was for adults.”
The Scarlet Lady is indeed an adults-only ship, (that means 18+ only!) with spaces designed by some of the top names in contemporary design from around the world. There are world-class dining experiences and experimental eateries, health and wellness programs that embrace the detox/retox mentality (think sundeck yoga and sunset cocktails), and a host of immersive entertainment options.
There’s also a Rebellious Luxe experience on offer, which gives guests free dining in 20+ eateries, free gratuities and Wi-Fi, free soft drinks, and free fitness classes.
What are the suites like?
This is what I like to think of when someone says ‘home away from home’. Staterooms and suites are yacht-inspired, with clever technology to make sailing as smooth as possible. There are mood-matching lights, Seabeds, that are configurable for sleeping, entertaining and relaxing, and in-room tablets that cast to the TV for easy film nights.
Where will the Scarlet Lady Sail?
The first itineraries will set sail from Miami, Florida, cruising around the Caribbean on four and five night itineraries. Each itinerary will include a stop in Bimini, Bahamas, where you’ll find The Beach Club, Virgin Voyages’ private beach club, exclusively for Virgin Voyages Sailors (guests).
