Today Brisbane Airport announced some new upgrades to their app, providing customers with a smoother and more inclusive tech experience when they fly. There are several new features as well an expansion of the language capabilities, which now include Japanese and Korean.

Dubbed version 3.0, this sleeker app now also offers:
- A new 'look and feel' in line with the airport's continued efforts to refresh their corporate branding.
- Social sign-in that is compatible with Facebook and Google customers, which allows customers to personalised their experience and receive exclusive offers.
- New 'book' and 'Add to My Trip' sections.
- Duty free products, promotions, information and limits.
Roel Hellemons, Brisbane Airport Corporation's (BAC) General Manager Strategic Planning and Development said, "Being able to connect with international visitors via the BNE App before they arrive at the airport can help to reduce levels of anxiety often associated with travelling to a new destination."

The app will also continue to act as an essential information portal for all international passengers, providing access to departure and arrival times, shopping and dining options, terminal maps, directions and navigation to/from the airport. It also offers information on the greater South East Queensland region, including things to do, see and enjoy in and around Brisbane.
The app also allows passengers to access the world-first Digital Departure Card, providing the ability to enter and save personal information for the Departure Card into their mobile device prior to arrival at the airport. The information is then converted to a QR code that can be scanned and printed at designated kiosks located within the international terminal. All that's left to do is sign the custom printed card and present it to Customs officers during your normal departure process.
Of this unique feature, Mr Hellemons added, "Filling in data for the passenger depature card on the BAC App in advance, rather than filling it in on the cards at the airport, makes the process easier especially for international travellers where English is not their first language."
The new and improved Brisbane Airport app is compatible with smartphones and mobile devices such as Apple Watch. It can be downloaded for free via the iTunes store for iOS devices and from the Google Play store for Android devices.
