An historic journey
A work of art in itself and a true Art Deco icon, the legendary Venice Simplon-Orient-Express train offers one of the most celebrated and romantic journeys in the world. Adventure and style are all intimately bound in journeys that crisscross Europe, rolling through sublime scenery to some of the continent’s most alluring cities. Delightful vintage cabins, gastronomic cuisine and lively onboard entertainment make a journey on this luxury train one of the world’s finest travel experiences.
The successor to the famous Orient Express, which ran from 1883 to 2009 and first travelled between Paris and Vienna, today the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express is a luxury service travelling to some of Europe's most venerated cities. The most popular route remains the London to Venice via Paris service, however the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express also serves Vienna, Prague, Budapest, Innsbruck, Istanbul and Berlin.
Cabins are luxuriously appointed and feature the utmost in passenger comfort, while the on-board dining is renowned for both its quality and formal elegance. Trains run from March to November with all meals, services and private overnight accommodation included.
Classes of Service
The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express cars are the original 1920s models. As a premium rail service, there are no distinct classes of travel on board. Instead passengers are treated to luxury standards throughout. Each cabin has a washbasin with hot and cold water, towels, bathrobes and slippers. Many cabins have adjoining doors and can be converted to ‘Cabin Suites’. Toilets are located at either or both ends of each sleeping car.
