Explore Africa in style
Travel Africa in comfort and convenience aboard the Shongololo Express, a modern rail service named after an indigenous word for millipede. Offering several distinct tour itineraries, the Shongololo Express is Africa's premier rail experience and carries passengers vast distances through an assortment of countries and across a wildly varying and thoroughly enjoyable African landscape. Along with overnight rail travel, the Shongololo Express provides convenient day trips aboard its own fleet of vans to allow tourists to get up close and experience some of Africa's breathtaking wildlife and scenery first hand.
The Shongololo Express offers four major African tours. The 13-day Good Hope tour takes passengers on a journey around spectacular South Africa and helps to explore its often turbulent political past. The lengthy Southern Cross tour is a 16-day jaunt through 6 different African nations, starting in the South African city of Johannesburg and ending in the exotic Zambian city of Livingstone. The 12-day Dune Express takes in much of Namibia's melancholy countryside, while the 12-day Dr. Livingstone tour explores much of Zambia and Tanzania and takes in the majestic Victoria Falls.
