A luxury service carrying passengers between Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, the Eastern & Oriental Express travels through green rainforests and picturesque villages as it makes its way between Singapore's Woodlands Train Station and the Thai capital Bangkok at Hua Lamphong. Extended journeys venture into the Cameron Highlands.
Boasting two renowned dining cars, a spacious open-air observation deck, two bars, and a saloon car, the Eastern & Oriental Express is regularly voted one of the world's best railways. Passengers may disembark in several welcoming villages and exciting towns along the way, with the trip taking two full nights to reach Bangkok from Singapore.
Classes of Service
Presidential Cabins
The two Presidential Cabins are the highest standard of cabin on the Eastern & Oriental Express. Measuring about 12 square metres, Presidential Cabins function as a private lounge during the day featuring a banquette-style sofa and fixed chair, as well as two additional chairs. The fixed daytime seating converts to two single beds at night, while private en suite shower, washbasin and toilet are also provided.
State Cabins
There are 24 State Cabins on the Eastern & Oriental Express, each measuring about eight square metres. State Cabins feature a daytime banquette-style sofa, which converts to two single beds for night-time use. State Cabins also feature one fixed chair and one moveable chair, as well as a private ensuite shower with washbasin and toilet.
Pullman Cabins
The Eastern & Oriental Express features 15 Pullman Cabins measuring about six square metres. Banquette-style day seating converts to upper and lower bunk-style beds at night, while Pullman Cabins also feature private en suite showers, washbasins and toilets.
