Terms and conditions
- ||T&C|| **Eurail Global Mobile Pass Flex:**
Pass must be activated within eleven months after purchasing date, and before the first travel, through the Eurail Rail Planner App. - Seat/bed reservations for mandatory bookable trains still need to be purchased and are an additional cost to the rail pass. Seat reservations may be limited on some services, advance bookings are recommended (reservations are booked via the Rail Planner app or at the train station).
- **Validity & Inclusions**
**What is considered a travel day?**
A travel day is any calendar day (from midnight to midnight) when you use your Eurail Pass to take one or more trains. You can take as many trains as you like within that 24-hour period, and it will only count as one travel day. Just make sure to add each journey to your pass before boarding. - **Which are the 33 countries covered on Eurail Global?**
The Eurail Global Pass covers 33 countries across Europe: Austria, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Ireland (Republic of Ireland only), Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey. - **What is the difference between 1st and 2nd Class?**
You’ll usually find wider seats, extra legroom, and a quieter environment in 1st Class carriages. Seating is often arranged 2+1 across the aisle, making it a great choice for solo travellers or those wanting more privacy. Some trains also offer perks like complimentary food & drink or power outlets in 1st Class. 2nd Class is still a comfortable and popular choice, especially for families and those looking to save on cost. It's ideal if you’re happy with standard seating and a more social atmosphere. - **Which trains can I travel on?**
Your Eurail Pass gives you access to most national and regional trains, across the 33 participating countries, including many local services and night trains. However, there are some exceptions and important conditions to be aware of. - You **can’t** use your pass on: Private or tourist railways not included in the Eurail network (such as certain scenic or heritage trains), Urban transport, like metros, trams and buses, Trains requiring reservations (e.g. high-speed or night trains) unless you’ve paid the extra fee for a seat or sleeper, If you're unsure, use the Eurail Rail Planner app or check with us, we can help confirm if a train is included and organise your reservations in advance.
- **Seat Reservations**
**Do I need seat reservations for European trains?**
Many trains do not require seat reservations, however most high-speed and international trains do. - **How do I book seat reservations?**
Most seats can be prebooked with International Rail, via our website or email. Book in advance where possible, especially for peak European travel times. - **Can I book seat reservations locally as I travel?**
Yes, in many cases you can book seat reservations at train stations in Europe as you travel. However availability can be limited, especially during busy seasons, so we recommend booking popular routes and long-distance trains in advance through us to avoid missing out. Booking early also gives you peace of mind and ensures a smoother journey.
