Then, go on a guided exploration of the Citadel National Historic Site, built in the mid-18th century to defend the town from various enemies.
Day 3
Explore history and living traditions on a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience discovering the legends of the Indigenous Mi’kmaq people during a visit to the Millbrook Cultural and Heritage Centre.
Traverse the Canso Causeway to Cape Breton Island and arrive in the village of Baddeck. Named from the Mi’kmaq word “Abadak” meaning “place with an island near,” this coastal town is so cute that Alexander Graham Bell, inventor of the telephone, built two summer homes in town.
Day 4
Today, enjoy the dramatic coastal views and highland scenery offering an endless source of artistic inspiration as you wind through Cape Breton Highlands National Park.
Unspoiled natural beauty and sweeping coastal vistas provide a mesmerizing backdrop for your drive along the Cabot Trail. Keep an eye out for moose and bald eagles as you travel in search of whales in the Gulf of the St. Lawrence. Return to Baddeck later for free time to explore the town.
Day 5
This morning, pay tribute to one of the world’s most famous inventors at the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site getting a glimpse into his mind and seeing his inventions spanning airplanes and kites, to deaf education and artificial respiration.
Unlock his legacy exploring artefacts, photos and full-scale replicas that mark his career as an engineer, inventor, scientist, and humanitarian. Then cross the Northumberland Strait to Prince Edward Island. Pass pastoral landscapes and gabled farmhouses en route to Charlottetown. Your Stays With Stories at the Rodd Hotel was built in 1931 and reflects such luxurious features as barrel-vaulted ceilings and a grand lobby. Tonight, enjoy a dinner at the PEI Preserve Company.
Day 6
Join a Local Specialist for an exploration of Prince Edward Island, starting with Prince Edward Island National Park, and a visit to the literary landmark of Green Gables, made famous in the children's books by L.

Learn about the property’s history from the current proprietor of the island’s oldest running tourist accommodation, Robbie Shaw, run by the same family for four generations.

Travel to New Brunswick, crossing the Northumberland Strait via the engineering feat that is Confederation Bridge.
Head to the waters of Shediac Bay, where you’ll celebrate all things lobster with your Local Specialist. Get a closer look at Acadian culture while diving into the lobster industry, learning about old fishing techniques that helped shape the way of life of the region. Then, enjoy a delicious lobster lunch served local style on board the boat (weather permitting). Journey south to the Bay of Fundy in search of the world’s highest tides. Join another Local Specialist to visit the eroded Hopewell Rocks and enjoy a rare opportunity to walk on the ocean floor (tide permitting). Your overnight stop is in the port city of Saint John.
