The first thing you'll notice about Saigon is the sheer quantity of scooters driving around the city's streets. Aptly nicknamed \Motorbike City", Saigon can initially be a little daunting, especially when crossing the road for the first time. The best thing you can do is watch how a local does it, and copy.

For an enthralling and indeed educational experience, take a half day tour to the Cu Chi Tunnels, about an hour's bus trip out of the city. This preserved network of tunnels is where the Viet Cong hid out during the Vietnam War. If you're not claustrophobic, have a go at crawling through a narrow, 100 metre long tunnel to experience what it was like for the soldiers.
