Apia, located on the Samoan island of Upolu, is the country’s capital and largest city. This city of almost 40,000 people maintains a quiet, slow paced life, a tropical climate and nearby beaches that draw visitors in with their gorgeous white sands and clear, blue waters. Enjoy a quiet afternoon relaxing in the sun or go swimming and snorkelling in the inviting coral filled waters. If it’s an adventure on the open seas you’re after, how about a fishing charter day trip where you have the chance to reel in an impressive catch.

The island of Upolu is just as beautiful away from the lovely beaches and inviting coastline. Enjoy hiking the interior of the country which is filled with lush rainforests and mountainous terrain, where waterfalls cascade over mighty cliff tops that form secluded swimming holes. Once back in the city, Apia itself has plenty to do with flea markets, fruit stands and shops drawing islanders before the warm and lazy afternoon sets in. After dark the city reawakens as the restaurants and night club scene begins for an evening of fun and laughs.
