Skiing in Vail

Offering slopes for all skill levels, Vail sees travellers flock to the town through the winter months for some of the best snow in the United States. Vail Mountain is the most popular with trails ranging from the cruising runs of the Front Side and Blue Sky Basin to the more open runs of the Back Bowls.

A skiing destination of this calibre would only be complete with a surplus of elaborate resorts. Most are located within close proximity to the mountain, making it ultra-convenient to walk nearly everywhere you need to go. The Marriott, Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons all provide high-end accommodation, while the Holiday Inn and Evergreen Lodge are comfortable mid range options.

Revel in the romance of Vail's hotels

Maybe it's the soft glow of Alpine villages nestled amongst the snowy slopes on a winter's night or the incredible mountain scenery and wildflower meadows through the summer, but there is no denying the romance of this Colorado setting. Romantic escapes are a reality with a number of hotels offering the perfect chance to cosy up together.

If luxury is synonymous with romance, you may want to consider a stay at the Lodge at Vail. This 4-star hotel provides the option for suite upgrades with an onsite spa and restaurant. It is also close to many Vail attractions. The Dobson Ice Arena and Heavenly Mid-Station Observation Deck are both just a 15 minute walk. Alternatively, stroll through the local villages for snow sculptures, shopping and mountain decks.

A summer getaway in Vail

Vail isn't all about skiing. This mountain town is a great summer destination with exceptional views over the peaks of the Rocky Mountains. It also offers plenty of fun for those that like a little adventure in their travel with numerous hiking trails, horseback riding through Eagle's Nest and white water rafting on Eagle River.

Despite the season, Vail's accommodation continues to deliver plenty of mid-range and luxury hotels to choose from. The Marriott provides a handful of hotels in the area with mid-range pricing. This includes the Streamside Douglas at Vail. The Tivoli Lodge also features mid range pricing with 3.5-star service.
