Salt Lake City ski resorts

Salt Lake City is a popular gateway to four of Utah's ski resorts: Alta, Snowbird, Brighton and Solitude. If you visit the city during winter, you can easily go from downtown up to one of the mountain resorts for convenient skiing and boarding lodging.

Each mountain has a selection of accommodation, some more than others. While skiing the 890-hectares of trail and off-piste terrain at Alta, you can reside within the Alta Peruvian Lodge, Alta Lodge or Alta's Rustler Lodge. At Snowbird, open year-round, there are rooms to rest your head at the ski-in, ski-out Cliff Lodge and The Iron Blosam Lodge. 

Downtown living amongst the sights

The bustling downtown area of Salt Lake City is jam-packed with exciting attractions and activities, ranging from the Discovery Gateway children's museum to the architectural gems of The Cathedral of the Madeleine, Council Hall and the Deuel Pioneer Log Home. Stay close to all of the downtown sights, by residing in one of the available hotels, including big brand names such as Hilton, Marriott and Comfort Inn.

Check in at The Salt Lake Plaza Hotel for convenient access to Temple Square and the Salt Palace Convention Center. The Crystal Inn Hotel & Suites lets you enjoy an onsite pool and Jacuzzi, while keeping you close to the city's fine-dining and nightlife establishments.

Airport accommodation near the city

Salt Lake City's international airport is located relatively close to the city centre, making Salt Lake a great place to duck in for a quick stopover. Located right outside the airport is a range of well-known hotels such as the Hampton Inn & Suites, Hyatt Place, Springhill Suites Marriott and the Hilton Garden Inn. All of these offer quality lodgings at competitive rates.

It won't take you long to head into the city from airport accommodation, allowing you to partake in a quick day or two of sightseeing, before jetting off to your next destination. Don't forget to visit the Clark Planetarium or historic Salt Lake Temple.
