United at Old Trafford
There are few teams more prolific than Manchester United and even less stadiums that possess the exhilarating atmosphere of the team’s home ground, Old Trafford. A visit to Manchester during soccer season is rarely complete without seeing a match, and when it comes to convenience it’s hard to go past a hotel located close to the stadium.
The Victoria Warehouse is one of Manchester’s most unique hotels, housed in an old warehouse. The artistic and cultural interior is a striking contrast to the industrial exterior. Room and match day packages can be purchased at the Trafford Hall Hotel, which features a classic English bar. You can walk to Old Trafford from either of these hotels.
Choose from the river, shops and attractions
There’s a little corner of Manchester where the Irwell River runs past the Manchester Cathedral and the Arndale Shopping Centre. Hotels in this area have prime real estate amongst some of Manchester’s best scenery, attractions and the city’s biggest shopping centre.
If you stay at the Renaissance Manchester City Centre Hotel or at the Mitre Hotel, you’re placed between the river and shopping centre, with plenty of cultural attractions to boot. Budget-friendly rooms can be found just over the river at the Pemier Inn, where you can enjoy modern luxuries.
Dining in
It’s nice to be able to not worry about getting around and finding a place to eat when there’s delicious food being served up in the hotel’s extravagant restaurant. Not every hotel has onsite dining options, but the ones that do usually ensure it complements your stay by serving quality meals and drinks in a memorable environment.
Manchester is home to numerous hotels that possess their own award-winning restaurants that rival any in the city. The Radisson Blu Edwardian has two restaurants to choose from: the Steak & Lobster where heart meals accompany classic British drinks, and the Opus One, which dishes out unforgettable nights in glamorous surrounds.
