Fort Lauderdale’s upscale beaches
Fort Lauderdale is blessed with a long stretch of picture-perfect beaches that attract numerous visitors from all over the world. The main strip of beach extends north from Las Olas Boulevard and is where you can find numerous bars, restaurants and shops. Although it’s no longer a major Spring Break destination, you can still find that wild party vibe at the Elbow Room bar.
Beachfront accommodation often comes with an exotic appeal. The Bahia Mar Beach Resort and Sheraton Beach Hotel both place your right on the beach, but still keep you close to the city’s cultural and entertainment hubs.
The entertainment district
Las Olas Boulevard is the epitome of culture and entertainment in Fort Lauderdale. Running east-west from the city’s downtown area all the way out to the beach, Las Olas provides everything from upscale shops, restaurants and bars, to art galleries and museums. Accommodation along the Boulevard is typically new with modern conveniences.
The Riverside Hotel places you right amongst the thriving nightlife and shopping scenes. A range of on-site restaurants and bars, poolside food service and elegant rooms ensure the hotel isn’t wanting in luxuries. Just off the strip is Kira-Mar Waterfront Villas, featuring its own marina and apartments with fully-equipped kitchens.
Stretch your money further
Fort Lauderdale has a number of fun and exciting attractions that you’ll want to visit, so it’s best not to spend all your money on accommodation. Fortunately, there are plenty of budget-friendly hotels around town that provide comfortable rooms while leaving money in your wallet for adventures such as visiting museums, VIP fishing charters and indoor Go-Karts.
Cheap accommodation won’t necessarily keep you away from the beach. The Best Western Plus Oceanside Inn, Ocean Manor Resort Hotel, Beach Gardens and the Winterset are only metres from Fort Lauderdale Beach.
