An easy night’s rest

One of New Zealand’s biggest appeals is the convenience of hiring a camper van and being able to explore the country at your own leisure. Dunedin caters towards anyone doing this style of travel with a range of holiday parks that provide a cheap spot to set your tent or van for a night or more. Depending on which holiday park you stay at, you might also have access to cooking, laundry and recreational facilities.

Less than three kilometres from the city centre is Top 10 Holiday Park, featuring an indoor heated pool. You can also stay on the banks of a stream at Leith Valley Touring Park, where you can go on bush walks and see glow worms.

New Zealand beachfront

As one of New Zealand’s coastal cities, Dunedin boasts numerous beaches that come with natural attractions and exciting activities. One of the most popular beaches is St Clair Beach, which has a fantastic surf break and a promenade with cafes, bars and shops. There is also the Hot Salt Water Pool at the southern end of the beach.

Accommodation on St Clair Beach is rather luxurious such as the Hotel St Clair, where you are positioned right on the beachfront with a private balcony to enjoy the view and ocean breeze. Also near the beach is the Ocean Beach Hotel complete with a classic sport bar and affordable motel units.
