Phnom Penh is the capital. It's more on the undiscovered tourist route at the moment, so why not start your holiday here and explore before everyone comes for a taste this metropolis on the Mekong? This is an older Asian city, no flash technological wizardry here; there are the sounds (and smells) of motorbikes and life. Street stalls will give you a taste of the city you're unlikely to forget and it may be tricky to digest the recent history examined at the Tuol Sleng Museum but if you can stomach it, you'll be changed.
