Membership/Status

After enrolment in the Thai International Airways Royal Orchid program, Silver and Gold status can be attained by accumulating 'Qualifying Miles' within three evaluation periods. This method of evaluation allows members to enjoy the benefits of Silver or Gold status immediately after accumulating sufficient miles. Both Silver and Gold status are then valid for a full two years.

Points – Earning & Expiry

'Qualifying Miles' (Q Miles) are the actual miles flown and additional class of service miles on THAI and Star Alliance airlines. Miles earned with other partners, or with promotional offers are not classed as Qualifying Miles.

Redeeming Royal Orchid Plus Awards

Royal Orchid Plus gives you awards both in the air and on the ground including upgrades with THAI and Star Alliance airlines, hotels, excess baggage and more.

Royal Orchid Plus Awards can be redeemed by members and for any of their Award Nominees (each member’s personal Award Nominee List can contain up to five names).

If your account does not contain sufficient miles for your preferred award, a maximum of 30,000 miles can be purchased to top up your account. Selected awards, including Air Awards on THAI, Magazine Redemption and Hotel Awards can be redeemed instantly online.

Everyday spending with credit or charge cards issued by Royal Orchid Plus partners can substantially boost your frequent flyer account balance. Points earned through your card loyalty program can be transferred as miles in your Royal Orchid Plus account. With some partners, miles are earned and credited directly to your account.

Points to miles transfers can be requested from your card issuer in these countries:

  • American Express: Thailand, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Australia, Sweden
