Membership/Status
The number of elite status points you earn with the American Airlines AAdvantage program is based on a combination of earned miles and the class of service purchased. You can earn elite qualifying points, miles and segments for travel on eligible fare tickets on:
- American Airlines
- American Eagle
- American Connection carrier
- Oneworld member airlines and their affiliates
- Alaska Airlines (including Horizon Air)
- US Airways (including US Airways Express and US Airways Shuttle)
- American Airlines codeshare flights where the ticket reflects an American Airlines coded flight number
You begin receiving elite benefits immediately upon qualification. As long as you meet the standard qualification requirements, your benefits will last through to the end of the next membership year. The membership year lasts from March 1 through the final day of February of the following year.
Points – Earning & Expiry
You can earn miles when flying on American Airlines, American Eagle and American Connection carrier flights for travel on an eligible published fare ticket. Miles are also earned for travel on American Airlines, American Eagle or American Connection codeshare flights operated by other airlines.
Through American Airlines, oneworld airlines and other AAdvantage participating airlines, members can redeem miles to over 950 destinations in 150 countries.
Redeeming AAdvantage Points
Redeem miles for travel on American Airlines, American Eagle and other participating airlines to nearly 1,000 destinations worldwide. With the American Airlines Award Chart, you can choose between MileSAAver for as low as 12,500 miles plus taxes and carrier-imposed fees each way, or AAnytime Awards with no blackout dates for any seat on any American Airlines flight.
