Getting to Tel Aviv
Tel Aviv flights most commonly originate in Europe or nearby Middle Eastern cities such as Amman or Cairo. From Australia several stops are usually required and possibly a change of airlines as there are currently no direct flights available. Typically, Asian and Middle Eastern airlines do not fly to Tel Aviv and a connection to a European airline must be made.
Airlines from Australia
Flights to Tel Aviv are available from many European hub cities including, Frankfurt, Berlin, Rome, Paris, Istanbul, Amsterdam and London. Flights to these cities from Australia will require at least one stop before the connection on to Tel Aviv.
British Airways is the only airline serving both Australia and Tel Aviv. Air Berlin offers service from Berlin and is a code share partner with both Qantas and Virgin Australia. Ibiera Airlines from Madrid and Royal Jordanian from Amman are also alliance members with Qantas.
Ben Gurion Tel Aviv International Airport (TLV)
Ben Gurion Airport is Israel’s main international gateway and is located approximately 18 kilometres from the Tel Aviv city centre. The city is easily reached by train, bus and taxi as well as by car with easy access on Highway 1. There are many car rental agencies that operate from the airport as well. The airport features four terminals with Terminal 3 acting as the main international arrivals and departure point.
