Direct Honolulu flights are available from Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Flying time is between 9 and 10 ½ hours depending on your departure point. Departures from Australia are generally late afternoon with an early morning arrival in Honolulu.

Swiss International Airlines is a Star Alliance member and has an extensive international network. While it does not fly to Australia it does operate to Asian hub cities such as Beijing, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taipei and Tokyo with onward connections to Australia with partner airlines.

Airlines from Australia

There are three airlines that provide direct cheap flights to Honolulu from Australia.

Hawaiian Airlines provides daily service from Sydney and from March 2014 will add a fourth weekly flight from Brisbane; up from its current three weekly flights from the Queensland capital. Hawaiian Airlines is a code share partner with Virgin Australia and Velocity points can be earned and redeemed on Hawaiian flights. Qantas and Jetstar provide direct Honolulu flights from Sydney while Jetstar also serves the route from Melbourne.

Honolulu International Airport (HNL)

Flight connections from Honolulu are available to many mainland U.S.A. destinations. Connections are also available to the South Pacific Islands and Asia. All major car rental companies are located at Honolulu International Airport (HNL) and taxi and shuttle bus services provide quick transport to the city. Downtown Honolulu is approximately 6 kilometres from the airport.
