Travelling on your own, with a partner or your family, "Hamo" (as the locals call it) has a range of accommodation and you can be as active or relaxed as you like. Unwinding on a beach hammock on Catseye Beach is a good place to start before swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, bushwalking, golfing (on an adjacent island) or touring to the Great Barrier Reef.

One of the highlights on the calendar is Hamilton Island Race Week, one of Australia's largest off-shore sailing events that attracts competitors and spectators from around the country.
