Carnival introduced the concept of Fun Ships in 1972 and have been well known for providing family-friendly cruises on any budget ever since. All aboard the Fun Ships are couples from thirties to fifties, families (lots during school holidays) and single cruisers looking for a convivial onboard atmosphere. The crowd is largely from the US since most departure ports are located there, though with large passenger numbers there are many nationalities on board.
