Passengers are allowed two small pieces of carry-on luggage with a maximum combined weight of 12kg. Items must be able to fit under the seat or in an enclosed overhead compartment.
Checked Baggage
Checked luggage allowances vary depending on the class of travel and destination. Check with your Flight Centre consultant for specific baggage rules regarding your flight and routing.
Typically, economy passengers are permitted one bag up to 23kg and business class passengers are allowed 3 pieces at 30kg a piece. Allowances may be higher for top tier frequent flyers. The maximum size of any one piece of checked baggage is 140 cm (L+W+H) and no bag may weigh more than 30kg.
Size limitations for carry-on bags are 55cm long x 40cm wide x 20cm high. Any item that exceeds these measurements must be checked in.
Sporting Equipment and Musical Instruments
Sporting equipment and musical instruments may be included as part of the free baggage allowance. Any bag over the free allowance will be charged an excess fee at a per kilo rate.
Restricted or Dangerous Goods
All dangerous goods are restricted from flying. These items are not allowed in carry-on baggage or in checked baggage. Any questionable items in your possession must be declared to check-in personnel. Restricted items include explosives, fireworks, flammable liquids, gasses and material, toxins, corrosives, infectious materials and more.
Ask your Flight Centre consultant for procedures when carrying items such as electric wheelchair batteries and personal oxygen devices. Items such as these may be carried provided that certain conditions are met.
If in doubt, leave it out. Even if you accidentally take a dangerous good on board an aircraft you can be fined and penalised.
